Afro Nation Detroit is quickly becoming a major yearly event, bringing together the best of African music and culture in the heart of the Motor City. Held at the historic Brewster-Douglass site, Afro Nation celebrates genres like Afrobeats, Amapiano, Hip-Hop, R&B, Dancehall, and more. The festival made its Detroit debut in 2023, building on the global success of previous editions in Portugal, Ghana, Puerto Rico, and Miami.
This festival is not just a concert but a celebration of Black culture and excellence. With top-tier performances by artists like Burna Boy, Davido, and DeJ Loaf, Afro Nation Detroit showcases the growing influence of African music and its deep connection to Detroit’s legendary musical history—from Motown to Techno. Thousands of attendees from around the world flocked to Detroit for two days of electrifying performances and immersive cultural experiences.
In addition to live music, Afro Nation Detroit creates economic opportunities for local businesses, while highlighting the city’s rich cultural heritage. The festival’s partnership with Bedrock aims to further cement Detroit’s place on the global stage as a hub for music, culture, and community.
With its successful second year, Afro Nation Detroit is poised to become a yearly tradition, attracting even more international attention and further solidifying Detroit’s role in shaping global Black culture.
