Haraz Coffee House has opened its newest location in the heart of Corktown Detroit. While the café is already welcoming guests during a soft launch, the official grand opening is set for Wednesday June 11. Located at 1501 Church Street, the new space brings bold Yemeni coffee and fresh pastries to one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods.

Authentic Yemeni Coffee Arrives in Corktown
Haraz is known for its signature Yemeni-style coffee, brewed with beans sourced directly from farmers in the Haraz region of Yemen. Often made with a traditional spice blend called hawaij, the coffee is smooth, aromatic, and full of flavor. During our visit, the drinks stood out for their depth and warmth, offering a refreshing change from the typical café menu.

Along with the coffee, Haraz serves a variety of pastries and sweets. From buttery croissants to Middle Eastern favorites like baklava and date-filled treats, everything we sampled was fresh and thoughtfully made.

A Modern Café in a Historic Neighborhood
The Corktown location sits on the ground floor of The Brooke on Bagley, adding to the growing mix of new businesses in the area. The space is beautifully designed, with soft tones, clean lines, and a welcoming layout that invites you to stay awhile. Whether you are meeting with friends, working remotely, or just grabbing a quick coffee, it feels like a place you will want to come back to.

Building Community Through Coffee
Haraz Coffee House is more than just a café. The brand was created to celebrate Yemeni culture and support coffee farmers through direct trade. Every cup tells a story, and every visit supports a bigger mission. With several locations across Michigan and more on the way, Haraz is quickly building a loyal following.

Their presence in Corktown helps bring even more cultural flavor to a neighborhood already known for its rich history and strong sense of community.
