Two guys from England became such a phenomenon in Michigan that Lansing gave them a day. Josh and Jase are closing out their summer Michigan tour with a free meet-and-greet in Novi on Friday, August 14, open to anyone who shows up. Here are the details and the short version of how this happened.

Who Josh and Jase Are
Josh Cauldwell-Clarke and Jason “Jase” Riley are travel creators from England who built a following filming their impressions of the United States. Plenty of people do that. What separated these two was Michigan.
Their American trip started in South Haven in winter, and instead of passing through, they stayed and did Michigan things. They went to a Hope College basketball game. They helped raise more than $34,000 for Mel Trotter Ministries, the largest shelter and resource provider for the homeless in Greater Grand Rapids. The state noticed, and the affection ran both directions.
The Day That Got Named After Them
On their return trip this summer, Lansing Mayor Andy Schor declared July 28 to be Josh and Jase Day in the city of Lansing.
Worth being precise here, since this gets repeated loosely. That was a Lansing city proclamation rather than a statewide one. Even so, a city naming a day after two visiting British creators is not a normal outcome for a travel video.
What Happens Friday
The Novi event caps a Michigan run that started July 24 and ends August 17. Guests can meet them, take photos, and eat, with giveaways running throughout.
The first 100 people through the door get the custom T-shirt. Therefore, if the shirt is the reason you are going, arrive well before 1 p.m. A free meet-and-greet with a capped giveaway tends to draw a line before doors open.
One Note on Location
This event is in Novi, not Detroit, roughly 30 minutes northwest of downtown depending on traffic. Some coverage has framed it loosely as a Detroit appearance, so put the actual address in your phone before you drive.
