Every Memorial Day weekend, music fans from around the world gather in Detroit to experience the Movement Festival, a celebration of the city’s rich Techno heritage. This year, the festival returns to Hart Plaza on May 24–26, 2025, offering three days of immersive performances from electronic music’s top talent.
The 2025 Lineup Teaser
The festival’s producers, Paxahau, have revealed an exciting lineup teaser for 2025. The lineup features a mix of legendary artists and emerging stars, headlined by:
• Carl Cox performing his Hybrid Live Set
• John Summit closing out the festival weekend
• Jamie xx, coming off his critically acclaimed album In Waves
• Sammy Virji, a rising UK producer
• Anfisa Letyago, Naples-based Techno talent
• Chase & Status, Drum & Bass icons
Returning favorites include Detroit’s own Carl Craig, the legendary DJ Minx, and rising ghettotech trio HiTech, alongside other standout names like Ela Minus and Patrick Topping.
What to Expect at Hart Plaza
Hart Plaza, located along Detroit’s iconic riverfront, will host multiple stages showcasing diverse electronic music styles. Attendees can expect everything from high-energy performances to more intimate, experimental sets, all while surrounded by Detroit’s vibrant cityscape.
Techno legend Carl Cox shared his excitement for the festival, saying:
“Movement is a techno institution in Detroit, so for me, it’s like reuniting with an old friend. I’m going to make up for the years I’ve missed with a show that’s going to send Detroit to another dimension!”
